Version 1.1
3/28/93
Minor cosmetic changes.
Version 1.2
4/5/93
Fixed small bug that caused the program to change the volume label
of the drive to the last stored volume label found in a zip file
that had the volume label stored, if any.
Increased speed and space by only storing label and recursed
subdirectories if necessary. Version 1.0 did it regardless.
Completely new interface, more user friendly and status screen.
Provides more information on disk space saved, elapsed time,
percentage completion, etc.
Version 1.3
4/13/93
Increased speed dramatically. Now the program will not process files
that have already have maximal compression. This means that PKPress
can be executed on an entire drive repeatedly, without having to wait
for it to process files it has already done.
Added my own routines for saving comments, so no additional executable
files are necessary. PKPress is now truly a stand alone utility.
Cleaned up error trapping. Previously, if the program was aborted, the
temporary data files would still be on the drive.
Version 1.4
4/19/93
Disabled extended and expanded memory usage by pkzip 2.04g. There is
apparently a conflict between QEMM and PKzip 2.04g. QEMM users were
experiencing problems. Also came across a bug where if user was using
PKZIP 1.1 and had zipfiles that were 2.04g on the processed directory,
then data loss could possibly occur. This bug was fixed - now if using
PKZIP 1.1, and PKPRESS comes across a 2.x PKZIP file, it will skip it,
using the message "File has Max Comp"
Version 1.5
4/19/93
Fixed a minor problem with SHARE violations.
Version 1.6
4/20/93
Corrected a mistake created in 1.5.
Version 1.7 --beta for 2.0 release--
5/03/93
Now should ignore PKZIP.CFG configurations for extra reliability.
(for PKZIP registered users). Code re optimized for faster execution.
Now recognizes lower case directories, better error handling, shows
approximate percentage of disk space saved. Fixed a problem where
it would not recognize that zip files had subdirectories stored.
(If they were zipped up in an abnormal way). Minor cosmetic changes.
Executable compressed and encrypted. Raised registration to a $10 (grin).
Thanks to Clint Bradford, sysop of Attention to Details BBS in southern
California for all of his beta testing. He's got a special talent for
finding bugs (g).
